Biography

Currently, I am a Ph.D. student at Aalto University. My PhD dissertation targets to address problems in data labeling for computer vision (CV). In particular, in my dissertation, several algorithms and prototype tools are developed to automate or reduce the manual effort for the data labeling tasks by extracting the knowledge from demonstrating videos in assembly videos. Plus, I developed a tool for generating AR applications based on the input of extracted workflow from the assembly videos. During doing research, I participated and developed several CV algorithms in several projects such as RECAP, CEAMA, and Facades. My research of interest is Computer Vision and Human Computer Interaction.

My PhD advisor is Prof. Yu Xiao.

Work Experience

Computer vision researcher in Facade project

Espoo, Finland
  • Designed and developing the building and apartment localization for augmented-reality applications for real-estate scenarios.
  • Leading techteam which involves three software developers and one UX designer to accomplish AR applications.

Computer vision researcher in CEAMA project

Espoo, Finland
  • Designed and developed a tool that support annotators to label workflow information (i.e., work step, operated tools, and instruction) in a faster way. Plus, it is possible to model the workflow and generate augmented reality (AR) application without the need of software developers.
  • Designed and developed a real-time multimodal interactive AR tool that allows field experts to demonstrate the task and also give annotations to recorded video by smart glasses.

Computer vision researcher in RECAP project

Espoo, Finland
  • Developed visual based solution for detect mould defect.
  • Developed a real-time algorithm for staircase progress monitoring system via staircase localization and rebar detection by visual based approaches.

Research Intern @ Touchline Interactive

100 Rue Albert Caquot, 06410 Biot, France
  • Benchmarked state-of-the-art visual features detectors and descriptors for image matching on mobile devices.
  • Redesigned and implemented the best feature detectors and descriptors on parallel programming library in C++.
  • Designed test cases and evaluated performance of implemented feature detectors and descriptors on mobile devices.
